Words and Music at Crear
July 21st, 2008This event - on Saturday 9th August at 7.00pm, features international poets and musicians presented in association with the Scottish Poetry Library and with LIterature Across Frontiers. These include Astvaldur Traustason, Icelandic Musician; Adalsteinn Sigurdsson, Icelandic poet and musician; Gintaris Grajauskas, Lithuanian poet and musician; Lise Sinclair, Scottish poet and musician from Shetland; and Gerry Cambridge, Scottish poet and musician (from Shetland).
The event takes place at Crear, on the Kilberry peninsula on Argyll’s west coast of Kintyre. Admission is by pre-purchased ticket only. Book by email at concerts@crear.co.uk or call 01880 770 369. Tickets are £10 - which includes supper. Season ticket holders fand school pupils tickets are free. (Season tickets at £75 are transferable, you save 25% and they obviously help Crear to manage its finances.)

The Scottish Chamber Orchestra Strings will play a concert of pieces by Tchaichovsky and Elgar at Crear on Argyll’s Kilberry peninsula on Sunday 20th July at 4.00pm.
Debut recital - songs in a foreign tongue

Within the 2008 Crear Classics programme, this is a debut recital by Susan Bullock, soprano and Martin Martineau, piano, featuring songs in a foreign tongue. The programe will include Schubert in Italian, Grieg in German, Britten in Russian, Liszt in French and Shostakovich in English.
Crear is in Argyll’s Kilberry peninsula and its website can be found on the Links page on this website. The concert is at 3pm on Sunday 29 June 2008.
As with all Concerts at Crear, admission is by advance tickets only. Tickets (£20) include the concert, cocktails and canapés. School pupils are welcomed free. To book call 01880 770 369 or email concerts @ crear.co.uk.

Classical concerts in Argyll
June 5th, 2008Throughout the year, there are regular chamber music concerts in Argyll put on by the following organisations: Mid Argyll Arts Association; Bute Arts Society, Cowal Music Club, Islay Music Society, Kintyre Music Club, Oban Music Society, whose season goes fom September to May. Every Summer, Crear on the Kilberry peninsula offers 5 high level concerts with leading artists in a superb panoramic setting.
