The Mid Argyll Arts Association (MAAA) kicks off its 2008 - 2009 season at 7.30pm on 29th August at Ardrishaig Hall with its AGM followed by a song recital from soprano Kathleen Morrison with David Finlay on piano. Its entire programme has been entered on the Events Calendar on this site and regular monthly news pieces here will carry details to promote upcoming events.

Concert with International poets and musicians at Crear on Kintyre’s Kilberry peninsula.
This event - on Saturday 9th August at 7.00pm, features international poets and musicians presented in association with the Scottish Poetry Library and with LIterature Across Frontiers. These include Astvaldur Traustason, Icelandic Musician; Adalsteinn Sigurdsson, Icelandic poet and musician; Gintaris Grajauskas, Lithuanian poet and musician; Lise Sinclair, Scottish poet and musician from Shetland; and Gerry Cambridge, Scottish poet and musician (from Shetland).
The event takes place at Crear, on the Kilberry peninsula on Argyll’s west coast of Kintyre. Admission is by pre-purchased ticket only. Book by email at concerts@crear.co.uk or call 01880 770 369. Tickets are £10 - which includes supper. Season ticket holders fand school pupils tickets are free. (Season tickets at £75 are transferable, you save 25% and they obviously help Crear to manage its finances.)
